Resilience

This year, the 2020-2021 school year, 9 of the PTP dancers were choreographed a new contemporary group dance, Code Name Resilience. This dance was choreographed by Ashley Canterna-Hardy, who has choreographed many ABA group dances for competitions in the past several years. The music of our piece is called Code Name Vivaldi, played by The Piano Guys. We started this piece a couple of months ago, and we have practiced to make it better and better ever since. This group dance will be performed in competitions that are coming up and also the many performances that we will have. Because this piece is a group dance, we have been trying to execute all the choreography together to seem like we are one person. In the last few months, some little details in the choreography had to be changed in order to make sure everyone is in sync and able to do it. These details are like specific arms, head placements, and other important corrections like how low someone has to plié for everyone’s head to be at the same level. Besides this, we talked about showing intensity in the dance and having the right amount of strength in each movement. The level of energy within this ensemble is very fierce and powerful.
